“Tee Dee ARR’s?”

I don’t know about you but I’m a meat-n-potatoes kinda guy. Hands off my .45–I’ll keep my CCP thank you very much! For me, listening to politicians is like trying to complete a crossword puzzle where everything is a double negative and the maker is allowed to come up with his own definition for any word.

Honestly, it’s not that I can’t translate their pig-Latin if I try, but I don’t really have the energy after a 12-hour workday. Thankfully there are people like the Winchester Watchdog who are capable of sifting through the politicians’ barf and figuring out just what they are eating.

So far I’ve read all of Watchdog’s posts, and I’m inspired–so much so that I’m writing to you now. I’m making this comment for you, the proud-to-be-middle-class, blue-collar worker who knows how to tweak his Mustang almost as well as politicians can tweak their words.

After reading through Watchdog’s June 9th post for the third time–(I’m trying to figure out all those percentages)–I thought I’d give my two cents on TDRs based on Watchdog’s findings and see how well I understood.

So here it goes…

For years, the Jack Ace government has said that some pieces of land can be developed more than others. For example, some people are allowed to build 4 houses on one acre and other landowners may only be allowed to build one house on five acres. Now with the TDR law, the government is going to some landowners and GIVING them imaginary houses. They are not allowed to build the houses on their land, but they can sell these imaginary houses that have an imaginary cash value (which will become very real soon enough). You, on the other hand, are left out for some reason (which is most of us!)

Now you may be saying, “Who cares? My neighbor has imaginary houses on his land that he’s not allowed to build, and it’s not like anyone is going to buy an imaginary house!” But wait! YES, SOMEONE WILL! In addition to giving your neighbor these imaginary houses, the Jack Aces told all the land developers somewhere on the other side of the mountain that while they CURRENTLY can’t build more than the previously stated amount of houses on each acre, they CAN INCREASE the number of houses they build on each acre by PURCHASING some IMAGINARY houses from your neighbor! See where I’m going?

Why would any Jack Ace want such a seemingly pointless, derivative-based worth on imaginary houses? Because many of these Jack Aces have LOTS of land, and some have already been marked for whole IMAGINARY NEIGHBORHOODS worth of houses…isn’t that nice? Well its real.

“AMURICA!”
